Mental matter?
Consciousness is spirit. Consciousness is also matter.
An old vase
Recently something special happened to me. I have an old vase that seems to be worth around €100. The vase has a lid. So it's not really a flower vase, but we have always called it a vase. I inherited it from John. As long as John was alive, this vase was placed in a beautiful, clearly visible spot in the living room. After John's passing I changed the living room and I had not yet found a suitable place for this vase. I had put it up above for a while, but that didn't feel right. So I gave it a spot on the windowsill, knowing that it did not belong there. But I thought: I'll find a better place for it sometime. Only then it doesn't happen, right? I just didn't get around to it. Meanwhile the vase had been there for over half a year. In the spot where the vase was, I didn’t have to be often. Sometimes I would go there to move the curtains a bit, or to open the window slightly. Nothing else happened at that spot.
Vase throws lid off
I was busy again opening the window slightly when something strange suddenly happened. I still don't know how it could happen. I must have moved my arms or hands strangely in some way, because the lid of the vase fell onto the windowsill. Now it is a porcelain vase, and as it fell I thought: it's going to break now. But the lid only had a little scratch. A very small piece of porcelain chipped off. I was very startled when it happened. I really thought: it will break. But that wasn't the case. I immediately realized that the vase was very unhappy in the place where it stood and that the message was: 'I want a different spot, urgently.' So I immediately looked for another spot and found one. Actually very simple, I could have thought of that earlier. When I placed the vase in that other spot, I immediately felt: 'yes, this is where you belong.' The vase radiated. It just stands there shining. It looks very beautiful standing there. So that feels completely right.
Matter-signs
Such things don't happen often, that something conveys a message. I heard another incident when I was telling someone about the fact that everything has consciousness. All matter is also consciousness, I explained. That is a very peculiar thought for people. I mentioned something about my car, that I also assume that my car is conscious and likes to know where we are going. Then that person told me that she hadn't had good access to her car for a few weeks. If the car door was locked and she wanted to use the car, she had difficulties to get into her car. The key didn't fit properly in the lock. After a little trying, it worked again. That had been the case for a few weeks. I then asked if the car might still have a defect, if she knew anything about that.
Car wants to be listened to
Yes, the car certainly had a defect. A few months earlier she had been to the garage with her car for something. The mechanic had then pointed out something else that the car needed repairing for, and he advised her to get it done within a few months. That had been left unattended. And now she told me that she was having trouble getting into the car. That's a logical message, I replied. The car was suffering too much from this defect, and it tells the owner: 'I'm struggling with this issue. I want you to do something about it.' She had the car repaired and the problem with the lock was immediately gone.
Car must go
I have another nice incident for you, at least I think it's nice. I can imagine that this might not appeal to someone else, but I found it very special. John and I both had a small car of our own. I had one for my work and John had one so he could go out during the day. At one point he became weaker and no longer used the car. He still had the intention of driving for a long time. Then he would dream about where he would go to. A few years later it was clear that he really wouldn't be driving a car anymore. So he decided it was time to get rid of the car. I would take it to the garage. Before I left, I was already in the car, I said goodbye to it. I thanked it for all those years, took a moment to reflect and gently stroked the dashboard. Then I started the engine...
Car responds
... and the engine stuttered! I was perplexed because this was a little car that drove very well, the engine had never stuttered before. I started again and once more the engine stuttered. Then the penny dropped: the car is responding and saying goodbye too! I was very moved. When I started it for the third time, of course it worked. I took it to the garage and asked the garage owner to take good care of it because it had always been a very good car. I even asked him to ensure that its new owners are nice people. I hope that worked.
